"A Candle in the Dark" is the title - a GORGEOUS gothling fairy - bat wings and black boots - her eyes brimming with tears. Her blonde hair drips down over her shoulders as she holds a vigil over the pile of skulls she is seated on. The lighting in this piece is striking - emanating from the candle she cradles in the dark. This is my own original acrylic painting.

The Three Fates - in Greek Mythology known as The Moirae - of destiny - as a universe of galaxies swirls behind them. Clotho is on the viewer's left - a portrait of innocence in angel wings as she spins the thread of life on her spinning wheel. Lachesis is in the center, measuring the length of the thread of life between her careful hands. Atropos glares out from the viewer's right hand side - with her "abhorred shears" - scissors snipping the thread of life with a final cut. My own original acrylic painting. ****REMEMBER - you can make this shirt for men/women/children/babies or make it long sleeved or a Tshirt or a tanktop - and even change the colour! Bat Tattoos - driving through a lot of large cities lately, I've been thinking more about faeries that dwell in urban areas (as opposed to magical forests, etc.). This gorgeous girl has a hard penetrating stare as she crouches in a graffiti strewn alley way. It looks like we've interrupted whatever she was up to. A tough little thing, she also has some beautiful tribal tattoos that match her batwings! Cute bat tattoos! This is my own original acrylic painting. ****REMEMBER - you can make this shirt for men/women/children/babies or make it long sleeved or a Tshirt or a tanktop - and even change the colour! "Golden Mermaid" is the title - such a delicately beautiful painting - I love her so much. She looks a little sad - she needs a hug! Subtle pinks, violets and turquoises reflect in the sea around her - an approaching (or is it departing?) storm in the distance..... My own original acrylic painting.

This was a painting commissioned by the Bradford Exchange for my upcoming series of collector's plates. This is a BEAUTIFUL piece - a quiet moment with a fairy girl and her little purple dragon pet - sitting in a moonlit garden with twilight flowers blooming about her. The colours on this are GORGEOUS! "The Holly and the Ivy" is the name of a Christmas carol we always sang at my grandparents' house when we were little girls (from the Cornish "Sans Day Carol"). Both ivy and holly of course are often associated with the holiday season since they are evergreen plants often used for decoration. In this case, the two have taken the form of fairy-like angels, sitting in a winter forest. Cute!! My own original acrylic painting. ****REMEMBER - you can make this shirt for men/women/children/babies or make it long sleeved or a Tshirt or a tanktop - and even change the colour! Hawaiian Volcano Fairy was a custom painting commissioned by my customer Doris - who loves Hawaii! She's a little tiki hula girl fairy, with a smoldering volcano in the background, a lei around her neck, hibiscus flowers in her hair, and a grass skirt. Her wings are inspired by the Western Pygmy Blue butterfly - a native butterfly to Hawaii! Being a tropical & tiki fan myself, this was fun. My own original acrylic painting.

Cretaceous Mermaid - I'm the first to admit it, I'm a big dinosaur/paleontology nerd, and made this painting for the sheer pleasure of it. The Cretaceous Period would have been a very perilous time for mermaids. Feisty mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, all the fantastic marine reptiles that I adore (yet they terrify my husband, who is creeped out by this piece, hehe!). Throwing geological science out the window for once (hey, it's FANTASY right?) I've included a gorgeous dark haired mermaid with these perilous monsters of the deep. My own original acrylic painting.

Sea Monarch includes butterflies, the ocean, and a stunning mermaid. Her tail is seemingly made of butterflies, with a triumphant blue morpho arising in front of the sunset. A few former butterflies drift near the bottom of the waves, just a little melancholy comment on the transience of life.

A bit of a Hawaiian tropical flair - a big eyed beautiful fairy girl - her wings inspired by the Common Rose Swallowtail butterfly which can often be found on hibiscus plants. "Bats the Belfry"! A lot of detail in this one - similar in vein to my "Notre Dame" series (though not Notre Dame specifically). I adore gothic architecture, and the play on words made me giggle (for those of you not aware, "Bats in the Belfry" is a euphemism for "crazy in the head"!). This gothic beauty sits atop the belltower of an ornate cathedral - a storm approaches as does twilight - and the bats swarm out! She has bat wings herself, and a darned fancy outfit for sitting atop crumbly rooftops. My own original acrylic painting.

Alannah and the Gargoyle - an illustration of one of the girls in an upcoming book I'm illustrating. Illustrating a scene from the story, Alannah is speaking to a stone gargoyle friend who lives in the forgotten cathedral of which she is a caretaker. She's holding a bucket, preparing to wipe down the front steps of the old building. My recent trip to Paris helped inspire the general feel for this painting (as well as the landscape & architecture). Alannah herself has stone wings and appears in shades of grey. My own original acrylic painting.

Memento Mori - is a Latin phrase roughly translated as "Remember you are mortal." It is a common motif in my own paintings as well as being an entire genre of Renaissance painters - often the masters would include a skull or skeleton juxtaposed with a beautiful maiden to act as a memento mori. Not only being a reminder of mortality, it can also be considered along the lines of "Eat, Drink and Be Merry - For Tomorrow We May Die" - "Seize the Day" type of idea. These skull details come from an acrylic painting I did on wood, of the same name.
